If anyone were to ask me to choose between makeup and skincare, I’d choose skincare all the time. I like makeup. I’ve just never felt the need to wear too much of it. I’m pretty low maintenance and I find that taking care of my skin means more than covering up any imperfections that I have. So with the start of this new year, and Vietnamese new year coming up next week, I want to perfect my skincare routine.
When it comes to products, I find myself leaning more towards Korean products. There are some American ones that I like and will reach for when my number one products have run out and are on the way. I’m still trying to tweak my routine. I really don’t want to do the whole 10 step Korean skincare regimen. I’ve worked it out where the list of products is cut in half. Hopefully.
Currently, I’ve been stalking Sokoglam for certain products that I need. But due to budget constraints, I can’t quite obtain them just yet. That’s where Nature Republic comes in. I actually found a stand alone shop in a nearby mall. Yay me!
Walking in, the associates greeted me warmly and were very welcoming. They didn’t bombard me with too many questions and let me shop in peace. This trip, I came in specifically for a face cream and a cleanser.
Which I found. Very easily. A downside with Korean products is that they’re in Korean, of course, so I did have to stop an associate a couple times to explain to me what products were meant for what skin type. Once again, they were very helpful. (And no, I was not paid for this post. Though that would’ve been nice)
Super Aqua Max Combination Watery Cream
This product was my main reason into coming into the store. It was sold out online at Sokoglam and I really wanted to try it. Even better, in store, it was cheaper than what was listed on Sokoglam’s website. Score! The smell is quite nice and the consistency is what I’ve come to expect from watery based face products.
I have yet to try this and the cleanser as I still have some items I need to use up first. But so far, adding to my skin regimen won’t be a problem. I’ll be sure to post a part two to this entry, after having tried the product and having an in-depth review.
Oh and here’s a close up of the cleanser
*I can’t seem to find this cleanser on their website =(**
One more mention! Nature Republic is also known for their aloe vera gel product. I do have this as well. I had purchased this in the summer and it really helped with the rampant influx of mosquitos flying around. Here is it nicely stacked
